Adult Onesies Fashion Trend Or Disaster

The word, onesies, is commonly associated with baby clothing. This is a one-piece apparel that keeps babies warm and comfy. These days, however, adult onesies are becoming popular and quite a topic of discussion in online forums and style magazines. To conclude if this is a fashion trend or not, lets take a closer look.

There are actually two types of adult onesies available in the market today. One is the comfy jumpsuit style with a hoodie. These look like oversized apparel that can cover you from neck to toe. Theres a horizontal flap at the crotch. You can go the bathroom without removing the whole thing, which makes it convenient to some individuals. This is ideal for people living in cold climates because of the convenience, comfort, and warmth it offers.

This is also popular to gamers who spend up to 100 hours of extensive gaming. It seems like a good idea for them to have an adult onesies that is comfortable, convenient for quick bathroom breaks, and soft for lounging and lying around all day. The popularity of different patterns to choose from is what makes others prefer this type of clothing. Many people find this a silly thing to wear but despite that, there are still a lot of people buying their own onesies even if they cost around $50-$70. As comfortable and functional as this may be, many fashion experts believe its not a stylish thing to wear at all. Even if Brad Pitt was photographed wearing an adult onesies, dont be caught wearing one outdoors. The unappealing cut and fit of this type of adult onesies is what makes it good only for wearing at home.

There is, however, a different trend in adult onesies. Compared to the adult onesies you wear at home, theres a classy type of adult onesies worn by many celebrities nowadays. Instead of a dress or top and pants, theres an adult onesies made for everyday style. Whether its the red carpet or a lunch out in a caf or restaurant, this one makes women look slim, fashionable, and fresh. You can visit style blogs and online stores to get an idea of what this looks like. You can also check out onesies in stores like Forever 21, Bloomingdales, and eBay.

The choice to buy an adult onesies or not is based on your needs and style. Theres no harm in wearing a comfy onesies at home, especially if the weather is quite cold in your area. But also see if this is something your partner would still find you attractive in. You wouldnt want to look too silly and lose your partners interest just because of this outfit. It might be a comfy piece of clothing but could also be too comfy that it loses its style and attractiveness.

The stylish adult onesies for casual days outside is the better option, but this doesnt have the same function as your comfy onesies. Both types have their advantages and disadvantages. They also appeal to different markets. Thus, the answer whether it is a fashion trend or disaster is depending on what type of onesies, how you wear it, and where you wear it. All things considered, there should definitely be a specific term to better differentiate the two kinds.

History Of Tennis Wear Following The Fashion Trend

Through the years, people have become more daring in the way they dress?so have sports outfits such as tennis clothing items. It’s interesting to trace the roots of tennis clothes and how they evolved over the past years.
Men’s Apparel
The earliest tennis clothes for men were made up of cardigans or sweater vests, shirts, and long flannel pants. In the 1930s, male tennis players changed their tennis outfits by tossing out flannel pants in favor of shorts. British tennis player Henry “Bunny” Austin holds the distinction of being the first top tennis player to wear white shorts in a tennis match. Since then, the standard fashion in terms of men’s apparel included white shorts and pants. However, they were replaced by brightly colored lycra shorts. Some tennis players opted for blue denim shorts or loose shorts instead of the longer lycra shorts.
Fast forward to 2005?the time when men’s tennis clothes started to keep pace with the boldness of modern tennis attire for women. In several tennis competitions, one can see male players sport Capri pants and tight-fitting lycra tops that reveal their muscular chests and abs. Modern tennis clothes for men also saw changes in terms of color. Quite a good number of men’s apparel come in feminine colors such as hot pink.
Women’s Apparel
The history of tennis clothes for women is quite similar to that of men. Women started to join tennis games in the 1860s. During that time, female tennis players wore modest clothing made of heavy materials such as serge or flannel. Tennis attire for women in the early days of tennis include corsets with high-collared blouses and neckties, long bustle skirts (sometimes with fur), and skimmer hats.
However, the fashion trend changed when Maud Watson won the Wimbledon Ladies’ Lawn Tennis Championship in 1884. Watson, the first woman Wimbledon champion, wore a white, long, bustled two-piece dress at that competition, popularizing the white tennis attire. Women realized that white was the best color for tennis clothes because it didn’t reveal as much sweat stains as other colors. This started the so-called tennis whites that have dominated the tennis scene for many years.
Bustles, corsets, and hats ceased to be common fashion items in tennis between 1903 and 1914. After the First World War, it was French tennis star Suzanne Lenglen who set the tennis fashion trend. Lenglen wore a daring calf-length, short-sleeved cotton attire with white stockings under her skirt. The French tennis icon experimented with her sports apparel by wearing colorful silk chiffon, a headband, and shiny white stockings. Her ‘revolutionary’ tennis attire caused a stir on the tennis court as spectators were used to the modest, and toned down attire of female tennis players.
In the 1920s, renowned American tennis player Helen Wills Moody become a trendsetter in female tennis attire because of her school-type sleeveless white blouse and pleated skirt with a fashionable eyeshades. She also added a lambswool cardigan on her apparel on cold days.
The post-World War II period saw women tennis players wearing apparel that made playing tennis easier and more comfortable. The apparel consisted of short-sleeved shirts, shorts or skirts, and caps.
In 1949, Gertrude Moran shocked tennis enthusiasts when she wore lace-trimmed panties beneath her white tennis dress. This started the bold fashion trend of tennis apparel that continues up to this day.

Five Fashion Faux Pas When It Comes To Wearing Trainers

Trainers and sneakers have come a long way from the gym – today you’ll find them on fashion runways and catwalks as urban wear is well truly the latest craze in the fashion world. Brands such as Puma, Nike and Onitsuka Tiger sneakers are becoming all the rage – and they sport the hefty designer price tags to match. Many top of the line lables are lending a hand in stylising and creating – not a sneaker, but really a pair of footwear art. While sneaker traditions are certainly being cast aside, there are still a number of steadfast fashion no-no’s when it comes to trainer wear.

Don’t be caught making one of these classic fashion faux pas:

White Sneakers with Black Jeans – made famous by Jerry Seinfeld, but still cringe worthy unless you want to be labelled a geek. However, there are some new takes on this traditional fashion-don’t, with celebrities like Justin Timberlake hitting the red carpet in white sneakers and a black suit for the MTV Video Music Awards. However, unless you liken your fashion conscience to those of Timberlake – it’s probably best to steer clear.

Ditch the Visible Sock, especially dark ones – we all should know white socks with dress shoes and dark trousers are a bad idea, but the opposite is also true. If you’re sporting light coloured sneaks, stay away from the long black tube socks. Instead, opt for low cut socks that stop just at your ankle, especially if you’ll be wearing them with shorts.

Hybrid Recall – the cars may be all the rage, but you’re not fooling anyone with a hybrid sneaker. Trainers that pose as dress shoes, with leather tops and sporty soles, are just trying to be something they’re not. They don’t make a good impression at work and certainly won’t fit in at the gym, so the best place for them is the back of your closet!

Wrong Way to Walk to Work – women have been doing it for years, but much to our dismay, men are picking up the trend of wearing their gym trainers with their work clothes for the daily commute. Guys, if you really can’t take the hard leather soles on your delicate feet, stick to a pair of stylish Merrell shoes or similar street shoes with your suits, not $400 cross trainers with fluorescent orange racing stripes. (See next point)

A Fine Line – continuing from the point above, there is a fine line between trainers for the street and trainers for training. Sport sneakers belong in the gym or on the court so use your running shoes, cross trainers and tennis shoes for the purposes that they were designed for and limit your daily wear to Converse sneakers or casual street shoes.
